Interactive media Week2

These are the wire-frames i designed for the structure of my website. I have layed my website site in this traditional layout because i believe that it is the easiest way for users to follow,With the logo to the right what is then followed by the sites navigation,The navigation im keeping simple with a drop down menu  "no fancy designed buttons that have to load up"  I am also having an image gallery on my site showing some of my best work so the viewer gets a test of what i do straight away hopefully then bringing them into my site.

Mood Board

Branding
We brand ourselves on a daily basis through how we act, speak and look. Most of us do it unintentionally, unaware of the messages we send out. It is only when someone we know and respect says 'that doesn't seem like you' over something we've done or said that we get a glimpse of this continuous process.

In the design world most but not all design stick to particular style of design, For instance David Shrigely is a designer and his style is more a messy sketchy effect.
This screenshot from his homepage shows that even with his website he has stuck to the same effect with the navigation on the right hand side, being in a sketch font. and how the content further down looking jumbled up and not in a traditional way, were that the content is aligned on every page.

Also after speaking to Shuan and showing him my website he stated that my designer identity name ( menace creations) is of putting. so after researching a little online i have decide to just stick with my name although Leigh Hattersley doesn't sound very appealing. it will help me promote my name in the multimedia industry.

moving images evaluation

In my group we was given the script shift and each put into pacific roles. Once given the script we had to interpret it into our own version. It was based on the genre conspiracy

Pre Production
As the director I broke it down using Celtix, So we could highlight the key areas that we needed to find and research. We also didn't have a plot for the film So I came up with the idea that the character has found some documents stating that the government are doing illegal arms deals with the Taliban.  I thought that this story would work well  in today's time as we are in war with the Taliban over in Iraq.

whilst we was in the planning stages we each exchanged numbers and added each other on facebook  to keep in contact. we met up on various days to plan out the film. We also made a schedule of the times and dates we would be shooting.

I did various researching on other films similar to ours in the first few weeks to try and grasp an understanding of how to captured the effect that he is worried and being stalked.

one of the main areas our team was worried about was locations because we found two very good locations, broad marsh bus station & bio city but we was unsure if we would be allowed to shoot their but after getting in touch with them and booking a meeting they agreed to let us record. So with these too key locations it made our film look more realistic.

Production
After shooting the ending scene we struggled to cover up a bill board and replace it with our own using premiere because it didn't look realistic. So we had to re think the ending when it came to shooting the ending scene, I took control and captured a shot of him being watched from inside a car
showing him walking down the street from the side mirror and then opening the door just as he's about to walk past.  Finishing the film there I believe let the audience create their own thoughts onto what happens.

Pro Production
Once we finished shooting we made a quick edit and shown it to the group we received various feedback mainly stating that you couldn't understand the story in which we was trying to portray and also that the introduction was too long and it started to make viewers bored.

So with the feedback we received we then went on to restructuring our video. We gave a 3 seconds brake in-between days to help the watcher keep on track with what day we are on. We had various issues with sound on our film, you could hear people speaking in the background so we had to lower the sound and cover it with wild tracks.

As I was the director my role was to plan out how the video should look and to try and help the team achieve this.  I also helped out in the editing, lighting and recording of some scenes.

The final outcome of the film was decent. If given the chance to make improvements to our film I would have thought and planned out the story boards in more detail and we would have spent more time doing rehearsals because the acting was quite poor. However,  he was not to blame since the actor we had arranged at first dropped out so our producer had to step in. Also I would re shoot some scenes because some shots aren't  align with the camera and some are quite jerky.

Shift - Group Edit from charlie on Vimeo.

here are a few stills from when we was filming.

We have created some a promotional material for our film from photos taken from the sets of our filming. We have used photoshop adding a tint of green to make it look serious and text on top to make it look like a professional advertisement.
